Sishen Golf Club

Situated in the Northern Cape, South Africa’s largest yet least populated province, the Sishen Golf Course simultaneously finds itself in one the most unique and most remote locations in the country. Located on the edge of the Kalahari Desert and among a 500 hectare tract of Camel Thorn forest, one may be lead to believe that this is a dry and dusty course. That however couldn’t be further from the truth. Many people have been surprised at the perennial lush green fairways of Sishen.

Sishen is indeed a hidden gem and since its inception has consistently ranked within the top 30 golf courses in South Africa. The par 72 eighteen-hole championship course is currently the annual host to the Kalahari Classic, which forms part of the Vodacom SA Tour and other prestigious amateur events.

The course is well bunkered, absolutely laden with the stunning Camel Thorn trees and even manages to bring water into play on three of the holes. Sishen was the final work of the late Bob Grimsdell, and the club has paid homage to his name by running an excellent facility.

Sishen enjoys magnificent views of the surrounding areas and due to its location an uncongested course. Nine times out of ten visitors can show up and get a game.

Facilities include: a driving range, practice tee and halfway house as well as tennis, squash, bowls and swimming facilities.
